In 2016, 42,370 residency applicants competed for 30,750 post-graduate training positions through the National Residency Match Program®. 11,620 registered candidates did not match or obtain a residency training position through the National Residency Match Program®. Poorly prepared ERAS® applications, ineffective personal statements, sub-optimal interview skills and lack of planning were among the top reasons for not obtaining a residency training position. In addition, a significant number of qualified candidates who obtained a post-graduate position did not match to their top choice.

He has reviewed several thousand ERAS® applications and personal statements. He’s conducted hundreds of residency interviews.

Dr Morrish is the recipient of multiple post-graduate National Faculty Teaching Awards for Excellence in Resident Education, including the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics and the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
